ROSER & XABI. I saw Xabi for the first time when I opened my studio door to receive him, and his fiancé Roser. From that first moment I knew that this was going to be the beginning of a long friendship. He is an artist and illuminator, and we talked about everything except weddings.
As I really wanted to get involved in their wedding, I drove with them to Sigüenza the day before, to help them prepare everything for the big day. We were all together, family and friends until late at night, hanging up lighted hearts, preparing candy bars and many other things, while we laughed and chatted, and we made many, many pizzas.
On the day of her wedding, Roser wore an Oh que Luna country style dress, with a flower garland on her head and a María Salazar bouquet in her hand, her look went very well with the style of the wedding and also with the Monte Cutamillas Estate where the reception took place.
They were wedded in a beautiful stone church. It was a happy ceremony full of love, smiles and music.
On leaving the church, clapping, laugher and cheers broke out while confetti flew into the air, and friends and relatives embraced the couple.
After the ceremony, we went to the wonderful green Estate of Monte Cutamillas. The place was full of small details that showed the personality and story of the couple: an area with Polaroid cameras, fish-eye lens, and 8mm video cameras. There was also an area with small flags and photographs of all the journeys they had taken together, and hanging among them, the snapshots that the guests were taking during the afternoon.
It was a very happy afternoon in very delightful surroundings, where everyone laughed. We were able to take spontaneous and amusing photographs of this funny and creative group of friends.
We took Black & white, and colour photographs of this expressive, lovely and very happy couple.
Xabi & Roser’s creativeness showed in the original and colourful decorations, and in all sorts of funny elements they put here and there, to stimulate the guest’s fantasies.
After sundown, every hour that passed became more emotional. The bride and groom’s brothers made their speeches. A bouquet was handed to the mothers of both the bride and the groom, and to complete the night a very special opening dance: the bride and groom opened the dance floor with the performing of the song of the film, Reservoir Dogs.
The rhythm and intensity of the celebration and dance increased as time passed, and we required of all our experience to take some good photographs while everybody was moving.
Xabi & Roser, for Volvoreta Weddings it has been a pleasure to be with you. We wish you all the best!
Xabi smiles all the time, and his face lightens even more when he talks about Roser. When I met Roser I immediately felt the chemistry between them. They understand each other without having to speak, and they look at each other like no one else does.
We went for a walk with Xabi and Roser in the countryside, to take some more intimate photographs. It was a moment of serenity in which to savour the intensity of the day.
