ÁNGELA Y ÁLVARO. Especial couples celebrate especial weddings. This wedding was unforgettable. Ángela and Álvaro met when they were 15. Alvaro’s best friend used to ask Alvaro to go with him after class because he wanted to see Ángela passing by on her motorbike… And after 12 years from that moment we are in Cadiz, in November. The wedding took place above the sea, under the crying of the seagulls calling overhead, and the sun shining. Definitely: a perfect day.
Ángela was a beautiful bride; she wore a dress designed by Pilar Sierra that suited her perfectly. “I knew I wanted something simple, a close-fitting bodice, a square neck line and golden details”. She also wore her grandmother’s mantilla with which her mother had also used at her own wedding.
She wore as well her grandmothers necklace, which had been designed specially by her grandfather, and that had been assembled like a tiara, and of course her engagement ring.
To complete her look she carried a bouquet of roses and freesias designed by Jesús Garrido. The wedding took place in the centre of Cádiz, it was very emotional and in the end we couldn’t help crying.
I will give a piece of advise to the rest of the brides.
I am probably not conveying something new… try to make the best of every single moment, concentrate on the details and spend time with all your guests because it all happens very quickly!
A very especial gesture: “My close friend Cata is from Chile and she couldn’t come to the wedding. It was a coincidence that one of my best friends had to travel to Chile a week before the wedding. They met, and she brought me back not only some presents, but also a video in which Cata had filmed herself talking about our friendship, it was beautiful. A big gesture.”
“I had made up my mind even before getting married that Jimena would be the one to do my wedding report. Her photographs are natural and each one is special. I think all her work is spectacular. A week after Álvaro had asked me to marry him, we had arranged to have our wedding coverage done by Volvoreta”.
It was a wedding with a blue sky and a blue sea; a perfect day. We wish you a peaceful and happy life together as the serene horizon of the distance sea.
The celebration party began with a word of advice from her father “kiss each other goodnight every day of your lives”, and the Irish blessing of Álvaro’s mother. The party continued with lots of dancing and laughter to celebrate Ángela and Álvaro’s wedding. They were surrounded by their friends, who had a great time throwing them up into the air for a few seconds.
“After I took of my tiara, I ended up wearing two different headdresses! One I bought myself at Mimoki and the other, my friend Andalu gave me from Wuala Wuala. I looked like an artist with so many wardrobe changes!”
